Finally coming home to Portaria (flying in and out of Athens), a double rainbow greeted us as we drove into Volos.
And the most important part of the trip -- the gifts for the kids. I found these two very beautifully illustrated books of Russian fairy tales, translated (well!) into English. The most impressive part are the traditional illustrations from three different schools in Russia, which were traditionally iconographic schools, but which shifted to non-religious topics during the communist period. Nevertheless, the fairy tale illustrations maintain an iconographic quality to them that is very interesting.
A collection of Russian chocolates.
A replica ice hockey jersey from the Russian national team.
