Here are some photos from the Holy Friday services here at our parish in Panorama. This is Holy Friday morning. Starting from Holy Thursday in particular, the crowds become massive, so Panorama's Boy Scouts helped with crowd control. You see them in place above.
The Apokathelosis (Descent from the Cross).
Here we are, on Holy Friday evening, placing the epitaphion on the bier.
This shot from toward the back of the church gives a sense of the crowds.
Here we are during the Lamentations. You can see how beautifully the women of our parish decorated the bier.
This choir trains specially to sing the Lamentations. This is the only time in the year that I see a choir like this singing in a church in Greece.
A view from the balcony.
