The Babies' First Holy Saturday

On the babies' first Holy Saturday, they got all dressed up in special matching outfits that Yiayia Sophia made for them and came to church in the morning. In the photo above, their brushing their "teeth" as they get ready to go to church.

Here are some photos of them playing later.

Paul.

Phoebe.

The tradition in Greece is for the godparents to go visit their godchildren some time between Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday and give them their Paschal candle as well as a present. On Holy Saturday, Paul's godfather, Paris, came by to do this. Above, you can see Paul holding his new candle. Below, you can see him feeling Paris' teeth. Now that they babies are getting teeth, they're quite interested in other people's teeth.

In the afternoon, we went to Carrefour (sort of like Walmart) in order to stock up on meat and cheese for the feast. Here the babies are getting in a shopping cart in the parking lot as we head into the store. As always, the babies attracted a lot of interest from passersby. :)
