St. Makrina

On Saturday evening, the eve of the feast of St. Makrina, I went with Fr. Alexios to a monastic sisterhood here in Panorama, whose church is dedicated to St. Makrina, to celebrate Festal Vespers. The sisters were once part of the Zoe movement, but later became nuns.

They are privileged to possess a relic from the saint, and we were blessed to be able to venerate it on her feast (see above).

This is the front of church. The table for the artoklasia is set up out front.

Here is Fr. Savvas, a hieromonk and spiritual father from Kerasia, Mount Athos, carrying the relic from the saint.

Here we are at the beginning of the artoklasia. I'm setting down the icon of St Makrina after our procession.

And finally here is a view during the artoklasia. We're in the courtyard at the front of the church.
