Ormylia

On Sunday, we all celebrated the Divine Liturgy downtown with our spiritual father, Fr. Spyridon, at his parish of Panagia Acheiropoietos, an enormous 5th century basilica. After coffee with Fr. Spyridon, we headed to Halkidiki, first to our friend Angela's house in the village for a quick lunch, and then over to the women's monastery of the Annunciation in Ormylia in time for their 2 PM Vespers. Above and below are photos of the babies playing in the monastery's courtyard.

After Vespers, we had a nice coffee and conversation with our friend Sister Prosdoki and explored the bookstore before the monastery closed at 4 PM. I wish I could have gotten a photo of several of the sisters playing with the babies in the grass.

From there, we headed practically next door to the men's monastery of St. Arsenios. The monks were doing Vespers, and the babies were pretty tired at this point, so we didn't stay long before heading back home.
